Guest Post Meet Chef Travis Walker

Meet Travis Walker, Wood Stone Corporate Chef

Hi Travis! What is the most exciting thing about the Wood Stone Test Kitchen to you?

I think the most exciting thing about the Wood Stone test kitchen is the moment that visiting chefs and restaurateurs realize the tremendous versatility and power of our equipment. It’s a great feeling to show someone the basics of how an oven or grill works and immediately see them start picturing how it can take something they already know to the next level. Even better are the days when two talented chefs are in the kitchen at the same time and you can see them collaborating and sharing ideas, even if they come from different culinary backgrounds and different parts of the world.

I would encourage anyone that is interested in Wood Stone products to visit our test kitchen, as there is no better culinary playground in our industry for their experiments, ideas, and questions.

I hope that when our guests visit, they leave with the knowledge to go out into the world and level up their already existing talents and vision by pairing them with great equipment. I hope that they are able to take away as much as they leave behind, as I know that I certainly learn lots from each and every visitor.

What brought you to Wood Stone?

I joined the Wood Stone culinary team in 2012 after having spent 7+ years working with Wood Stone equipment in the “real world.” My first job ever was making pizzas at a Godfather’s Pizza in Bonney Lake, WA.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not busy with new culinary creations in the Wood Stone test kitchen?

When I’m not slinging pies in the test kitchen (in Bellingham or the others around the United States), you can most likely find me playing guitar or hanging out with my Boston Terrier at one of Bellingham’s many dog friendly breweries.
