Grain Gathering

Wood Stone was privileged to be a sponsor of the Grain Gathering at the WSU Agricultural Research Center in Mt. Vernon last week. The annual conference brings together professional and home bakers, maltsters, brewers, millers, farmers, wheat breeders, food writers, wood-oven builders, and people who come to enjoy “summer camp for bread lovers” from as far away as New York. In addition to having a Mt. Baker 6′ oven on site, Chef Frank was honored to join them with a Tandoor oven to present his methods for cooking the perfect Naan!

A note from Chef Frank:

2014’s Grain Gathering was an “Awakening” of all attending, professional, home bakers, scientists of all perspectives, farmers, grain breeders, millers and wonderful people — many volunteering to help make it all happen. The bread baking technique and science there-of filled in gaps I didn’t know I had; very exciting! I hope I have the opportunity to digest the experience to its fullest use. 2014’s Grain Gathering will change and shape the direction of my intention and actions for years to come.

I am grateful for the experience and all relationships planted.

Respectfully,

Frank
