Business Development Manager

 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Customer Experience team as a Business Development Manager.  The candidate selected will be responsible for growing market share with our legacy and new products. We are seeking a highly experienced and capable business development professional to aggressively grow our sales through new account acquisition. This is a remote, home office-based position, preferably in or near a major metropolitan city for convenient air travel. Average travel is 50-60% throughout the United States and Canada.

Wood Stone Corporation, based in Bellingham, Washington, has been manufacturing stone hearth and specialty commercial cooking equipment for the foodservice industry since 1990. We have more than 15,000 installations in over 80 countries worldwide.

Wood Stone built its reputation on our family of stone hearth ovens. Our technologically advanced ceramics and engineering expertise, coupled with our high-quality construction techniques and attention to detail, are typical of all our products and relied upon by our loyal customers. Our product offerings have grown since inception and Wood Stone now also designs, engineers and manufactures a line of specialty commercial cooking equipment in addition to our oven offerings.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive sales growth through process-based strategies within targeted industry accounts.
    • Form strategies for long-term, relationship driven capital equipment sales typically at a corporate level.
    • Identify and assemble key decision makers/influencers inside of targeted accounts.
    • Effectively generate interest within each target account.
    • Implement effective pipeline management strategies to ensure continued development of opportunities.
  • Understand, interpret and solve complex customer problems.
  • Deliver measurable results against established account acquisition metrics.
  • Develop a working strategy with the VP of Customer Experience that aligns with strategic goals and sales targets.
  • Communicate summaries of key customer visits, market trends, and any other significant activity to the Customer Experience Team.

Key qualifications we are seeking for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a business/marketing focus.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in business development with documented success of acquiring large accounts. Experience within the foodservice industry is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiating skills and ability to formulate a solid business plan.
  • Highly competitive individual with a strong sense of integrity and a desire to land the ‘next’ large account.
  • A team player that has the desire to grow based on performance.
  • Strong documented business skills and outstanding communication abilities.
  • Ability to set the right priorities and focus on the things that can make the most difference.
  • Self-accountability for driving results and a sense of urgency to meet goals.
  • Willingness to travel 50-60% of the year.
